We would like to draw your attention to the autumnal colours from our range, and inspire you with ideas on how to pair them with your outfits.
Crimson red is a very deep red that would look perfect on any skin tone. It looks great with black, white and even grey.
Although beige and nudes are colours that can be worn all year round, there’s something special about wearing nudes in autumn, especially our golden brown. Any skin tone can rock it and the best part is the colour can be worn on almost anything and almost any occasion.
The Red and Beige hijab in Kainat is one of our favourites for autumn. The ombre design is something different yet the colours are very autumnal.
Desert in Leila is probably the most autumnal hijab because of the brick and burnt orange shades. It’s a unique and beautiful design makes it our favourite.
Burnt orange in Gulizar is most definitely an autumn pick because of the colours. This hijab can be rocked with a plain beige or brown dress. The hijabs brown and green from this range are also very autumnal. We recommend that you check them out on our website.
Sand in Eysan is a chiffon hijab that looks perfect with formal wear and is a stunning brown shade.
That's it for this post, we hope this post has given you some inspiration. Let us know what you think as we love your feedback! Are there any shades you'd like us to stock? Or how about you let us know what your favourite autumnal colour is?

Eid al-Adha falls under Dhu al-Hijjah, which is the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar, and is a very sacred month in the year.
Muslims across the globe celebrate Eid al-Adha on the tenth day of the month..
]]>
Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) was commanded by Allah to to sacrifice his son Ismail. Without thinking twice about his love for his son, Prophet Ibrahim remained obedient to Allah and took his son to Mount Moriah.
Shaitaan (The Devil/Satan) tried to tempt Prophet Ibrahim to not obey to Allah’s command. However, Prophet Ibrahim being the obedient and faithful Prophet that he was throwing pebbles at Shaitaan. In memory of this act of rejection towards Shaitaan, stones are now thrown at symbolic pillars during Jamraat (Stoning of the Devil) during Hajj rites.
An Angel stopped him just as he was about to make the sacrifice and gave him a lamb to sacrifice instead. Christians and Jews believe that in fact it was Ishaaq that was being sacrificed. A lot of Muslims sacrifice animals to reflect the sacrifice of Abraham, and the meat is then divided into three parts – for their family, for relatives and friends, and for the poor and needy.
The Eid prayer for Eid al-Adha can be done at any time once the sun has completely risen, but before the Dhuhr prayer at noon.
Like Eid Ul Fitr, the occasion is celebrated by greeting each other by saying Eid Mubarak, visiting family, exchanging gifts and sharing food.
From: Sunan Ibn Majah. Chapter 7, The Chapters of Establishing the Prayer and the Sunnah Regarding Them
Narrated/Authority of Ibn Abbas
"The Messenger of Allah (saw) used to have a bath on the day of Fitr and the day of Adha." Sahih
From: Sunan Ibn Majah. Chapter 29, The Chapters on Sacrifices
Narrated/Authority of Ibn Abbas
"We were with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) on a journey, and the (day of) Al-Adha came. We (sacrificed) one camel on behalf of ten (people) and one cow on behalf of seven."
Thank you for reading our blog. We hope you and your families have a lovely Eid filled with love and joy.

]]>Chiffon and satin hijabs look the most elegant and can boost up very chic looks. The struggle for many however is that it can be slippery.
#Tip1 - We highly recommend using a cap underneath the hijab
#Tip2 - Use two pins, one at the end of your first fold and the second, a small pin on that same first layer but on top of your head
Habiba Nessa wearing our chiffon Gumus hijab that’s perfect for everyday wear and occasion, depending on your individual taste.
Some days many of us don’t want to wear any pins at all, especially when it’s hot outside.
#Tip1 - Ensure the material is not slippery and if it is you wear a cap
#Tip 2 - Tie your hair up in a bun so that the scarf can pretty much “balance” on your bun
#Tip3 - Tuck the scarf into your top or wrap it around your neck so it doesn’t fall off

Image of Iamah wearing our Satin Gulizar Hijab. This hijab is perfect for plain beige/black outfits that need boosting.
Turban styles are very trendy and look pretty classy. There are a few tips you need to remember in order to pull this look off.
#Tip1 - Make sure you have volume, either tie your hair up or get a pin otherwise the turban will look flat.
#Tip2 - Wear a cap if you are concerned about your hair slipping out

]]>When a woman is seen wearing a veil she is automatically considered as “oppressed”. However, if you ask women why they cover in such manner you’d hear responses such as “I am doing it for the sake of my Lord”. Many Muslim women also believe that the hijab not only protects them but also “protects her spiritual light”. Some also consider it a sign of commitment to God and a sign of faith.
I once asked my friend who was wearing the hijab, how she felt wearing it and whether it made her feel inferior to other women. Her response was “not at all, dressing modestly doesn’t oppress me, in fact, it empowers me because I choose what you can or cannot see”.
You aren’t limited to society’s trends nor are you obliged to follow society’s norms to what is considered as “fashionable”.
You are a leader, not a follower.
A wide range of influencers and bloggers have had a part to play in getting women that dress modestly/practise the hijab recognised. Such women are now represented in the fashion world. If you’re looking for a great blog to read, a blog that takes on a modern perspective to modesty and also discusses lifestyle-related topics, we highly recommend Modesty By Sarah.
At Orkide Fashion UK, we have a wide range of hijabs and scarves for women of all cultures and backgrounds. Such hijabs and scarves can be worn in different styles. Do check out our wide range and also let us know your feedback.
We look forward to hearing from you and will see you in our next post!
